Naana Bruce Quansah is young, beautiful, a single mother of an eighteen-year-old boy and seeking the ultimate office in the country, the first female President of Ghana.
As her campaign gathers momentum and the race for the party’s presidential candidacy gets contentious, the most hardworking campaign team in the country must contend with their own skeletons, that of their candidate and the sham of politics which may well diminish their dream of winning a historical election.
A total of 13 episodes of Shampaign will show from Fri. 22nd April till Thu. 9th June 2016.

NAANA AKUA QUANSAH
Naana has worked her way up to the top since the days in University as SRC President. She’s a born leader, independent thinking and rational.
A former campaign manager of the current President and an ex-minister of state, she is determined to make history but not at the expense of playing dirty, until politics deal her a dirty blow. When the gloves come off, the once coherent politician becomes the master manipulator of the Game.
He’s affable, intelligent and practical. He’s a sworn supporter of Naana. He encouraged her to run for office and has assembled some of his richest friends to sponsor her ambitions. However when Naana takes the road less travelled and goes against the norm the President must choose between his personal feelings for the woman he once called the love of his life and the custom of society that established the foundation of the office of the President.come off, the once coherent politician becomes the master manipulator of the Game.
Francis came to study in Ghana. He quickly got lured into the machinations of Ghanaian politics. He’s Naana’s campaign manager and the number two man, a position he held once before when they were in University and he lobbied for her to be the first female SRC President of the University. Francis is loyal, passionate, and analytical. Whiles he’s married to the daughter of one of Ghana’s richest men, he also harbors strong feelings for his boss and the woman he’s pined after since their days in University. However his actions after catching his wife in bed with another man sets in motion a chain of events that could throw their chances of winning a hotly contested presidential elections into the deep end.
He’s been in politics longer than many have seen Presidents sworn in. Nene is loud and very opinionated. One of the founding fathers of the party and the only contender for the Presidential seat until Naana announced her candidacy. He’s a typical African man who upholds his own version of African values. He thinks he’s earned the right to be voted President of the country and will do ‘anything’ to get it.
Daniel Kojo Delong
Patrick Nun0o has come from a background of mainstream politics. His father and uncles have all reason from nothing into very prominent politicians. Nunoo is determined to make his own mark in the political arena with the election of Nene Adodaodji as the party’s Presidential candidate and eventually the President of Ghana. He a fast talker, street smart and plays all the cards until he the game is lost or won. He doesn’t shy away from playing dirty and unlike his fellow campaign manager from the other camp, Nunoo believes the will of the people lies within the machinations of political campaign.
Obiri is a young ambitious guy. Maybe, just maybe he’ll manipulate his girlfriend into leaving her husband and settle with him. What starts off as an affair with an older woman turns into a dangerous game of blackmail and political gains. When it matters most, Obiri puts his right foot forward and goes after what is rightfully his at the expense of his life.
Zynnell Lydia Zuh
Priscilla’s twisted plan of how to keep her broken marriage sets the tone of a show down beyond her wildest imagination. Coming from a complicated background of a rich introverted father and flamboyant, assertive mother, Priscilla wants nothing more than to be married to her Nigerian heartthrob who she met and fell in love with in University. But the relationship has changed and Priscilla has needs that her husband is not attending to. As she continues to seek answers to her broken marriage Priscilla makes a decision that changes the dynamics of a political campaign to a rather dangerous one.
Anima Misa Amoah
Kate is the mother of the most powerful man in the country. She’s also the President’s chief’s advisor. Her ultimate goal is to preserve her son’s legacy as the most revered President of all time. She’s very powerful without necessarily appearing so. She wields great influence in the party and has the means to put the powerful in line. She uses everybody and anything to steer the politics in her son’s favor and this includes manipulating an election that could otherwise mar the hard earned reputation of the most loved President in the history of the country.
She’s unlike any mother. Mrs. Hyde is flamboyant, assertive, opinionated and scorned. This happy go lucky woman who seems to be having the time of her life is also badly scared from a past event. Her ability to indulge in a sordid affair that may well break up her family stems from a dark past, a betrayal and love lost. Mrs. Hyde is a woman scorned out of the one thing she dearly desired in life and she’s about to deny a few loved ones same.
Elizabeth Vanderpuije is the Member of Parliament for the constituency that is set to hold the Presidential congress of the GLP Party. Her prominence catapults in the few days leading to the congress as both contesting camps want her on their side. She’s a tough cookie who has taken very daring decisions to get to the position she is in. She’s also a strong advocate for successful women but only if they are willing to work for it. Her clash with Naana bothers on the fact that Naana has had a smooth ride in a career that women work twice as hard to get ahead. Once she discovers Naana’s weaknesses she makes a decision that may well change the dynamics of an election that the men already have the upper hand.
MIRANDA GRAVES NUNOO
Madelien Abedi – Boafo
A narcissistic spoilt girl from the upper side of society. Miranda is confident, brave, flamboyant and a challenge for any guy. She wants what she wants and few will stand in her way. Sometime during this period though, Miranda will have to grow up and face the realities of the real world.
Menaye lives in America with her family. She’s been for many years until she shows up at her sister’s campaign headquarters. Her mission? To save her sister from throwing away years of hard work over a past that she has long tried to bury. Menaye is the peacemaker, protective and motherly. She loves to dote on her nephew and provide emotional support for her sister who is having a hard time letting go a secret that is set to mar her campaign.
Lyn Ethel Bentil
A young beautiful girl whose sole aim is to achieve greatness in life by any means possible. She’s determined to mirror Naana and make herself indispensible. However there’s a lot more to her than meets the eye. She comes from a poor background; her father sells marijuana to get them by. She carries these drugs to her father’s customers. Her new job as special assistant to an aspiring President may just be what her father needs to take the business to the next level.
Jonas is disarming, affectionate and approachable, all the qualities necessary to win people over. However this charming man has ambitions even bigger than what lies before him. Under the guise of offering support to all camps in the party’s presidential race this schoolteacher gathers enough information on both sides to set in motion a more personal agenda.
Jason is handsome. But underneath the sweet face lies a young man battling with a nasty rage. He has more questions than answers about his father. He’s also unhappy about his mother’s career choices, which is bringing him needless attention and airing their dirty linen in public. Meanwhile he pines after a girl who is older than him and works for his mother. When Jason meets an equally challenging character in the MP’s daughter, his life begins to takes a different turn, and the answers he seeks dangle in front of him. Jason soon confronts the one truth that his mother has been protecting from his entire life.
George is peculiar, and set in his ways. He’s also the oldest in a team of young, ambitious people. He’s the grounds man who knows the nook of every town. He knows the voters and their needs but refuses to acknowledge his biggest need, a heart problem that may prove to be a huge liability in the middle of a chaotic campaign.
Frema is good-natured, level headed and mature. Though her initial plan was purely for financial reasons, the divorced mother of three begins to harbor true feelings for the girl she set out to trick. This confuses the plan for a while but when it matters Frema still chooses blood over water. Her intentions, even though for good reason sets forth a chain of very disturbing events that ends up threatening the freedom of her dear ones.
Agbeko (Bex) Mortty
Duke is a sadist, rich and dictatorial. He wants what he wants when he wants it and will do anything to get it. The mean bachelor’s goal is to marry a seemingly strong woman and tame her into doing his bidding. Mary-Ann satisfies that role perfectly and Duke is in a hurry to marry her and make her his forever. His perfect plan however takes a drastic turn when his obedient wife to be decides to fight back. For a guy who takes pleasure in inflicting pain on the ones he claims to love, fighting back is the ultimate thrill he needs to win.
Donald has the keenest eye in the business. He’s piercing and goes beyond the surface to find the truth about everything. He’s diligent and misses nothing. However Donald is much more than meets the eye. The lonely, unassuming man indulges in far more dangerous activities than any research work allows.
Dobo lives by his work. He buries everything bad about Naana’s campaign whiles exposing the bad in the other camp. However when the bad from his end gets ‘extremely bad’ he seeks an ally that could well be the death of the campaign.
Christian works closely with George. He’s somewhat his confidant but Christian is smarter than anybody gives him credit for. He wants to be the most effective field coordinator that ever was and he’s not about to patiently wait his turn.
Shirley Emma Tibilla
As first ladies go, Charlotte Malm is a definition of elegance. She’s beautiful, and extremely supportive of her husband, to the extent of allowing him to harbor feelings for another woman. However when it seems that even the strongest bonds can be broken thanks to politics, Charlotte sets forth to claim what has always has been hers, POWER!
She’ll sell anything including narcotics. This tomboy country girl is tough and rough having fended for herself since she was a child and living on the streets. She knows everyone and everything including those dark shadows who creep around at night doing the unspeakable. ASHIOKOR soon learns that perhaps politics is a far dangerous game than sleeping on the streets.
Ankrah is the cousin of Nene Adodoadji, the opposing candidate to Naana in the race for the party’s Presidential elections. Ankrah is also one of the founding fathers of the party. He vehemently opposed the nomination of the sitting President but later rescinded his position for reasons that later explains his diabolical plans towards Naana’s campaign. Ankrah is dodgy, mischievous and believes only in the ability of men to rule to the country.
Miriam Ama Saaka
Unassuming, smart and a go-getter. Aku is the team’s new media person who takes all the pictures, runs the campaign’s website and shares the gossip on social media. What we don’t know is Aku is paying a debt that may drive her to share more than just pictures on social media.
Tough and smart, Mary-Ann is good on the job. She’s also quite the workaholic. However behind the strong outward personality Mary-Ann is battling with an abusive relationship at the hands of her opulent fiancée. Things get worse when someone threatens to expose a video of her getting intimate with another woman unless she pays some money. Though she goes to great lengths to save her reputation, maintain her demeanor through her abuse and try to win an election, Mary-Ann is set to explode with very dire consequences.
Princess Fathia Nkrumah
Deborah is smart, sophisticated and highly intelligent. She’s the pride of her mum and every woman’s dream girlfriend for her young son. However Deborah has a bigger agenda. She’s been roped in a highly complicated political power play and has been tasked to disarm the opponent any which way possible. Her loyalties begin to waiver when her heart threatens to rule
Augustine Abbey (Idikoko)
Mr. Hawkson is a hustler and has been his entire life. He’s sold petty narcotics to put his only daughter through school and continues to sell it to get by. When we meet Hawkson he’s not a very happy man because his daughter and go between for his drug business is trying to distance herself from the long run family business. But when Hawkson wants something, Hawkson gets it and his daughter is just about to find out just how much he wants his business to thrive.
